At the moment the code is practically rewritten by me, timings are changed and some hardware changes are issued also. Since now my releases will be called "2nd ChancePI" to distinguish from base project called "Chance PI" I have to point out that every my software release has roots in the project called ChancePI/AndyF. Hi, Detection range comparison. 2nd Chance PI versus Garret ACE 250 ! Part 1 https://youtu.be/7vIdAO51E_c Part 2 https://youtu.be/uYxHxEehncY 2nd ChancePI has the range better than ACE 250 about 25-30% I have set on 2nd Chance PI 3 bar signal masking. This is useful barrier to prevent unwanted signals and discrimination need this signal level to work well. On the ACE 250 I have set sensitivity -2. This is also optimal setting to avoid unwanted signals. I do not want to sets fictive and useless detection range By the way I have to say that discrimination is more accurate in the 2nd Chance PI. Maybe I shall do next comparison test Tested objects - Gold ring - silver ring - beer bottle cap - aluminium square 10x10 mm from beer can wall - present pistol bullet - bullet shell - mauser from 1901 and present - one US cent coin - polish old communist 50 gr aluminum coin - polish present 2 gr coin - polish present 1 gr coin - present threaded brass pipe joint etc... Of course 2nd ChancePI has huge advantage - static work |

Unfortunatelly at the moment I have not free time to play with movies v004 A few new features: - coil delay auto measurement mode - 12 timing profiles covering 100 - 1200 pulses per second with proper main pulse width to keep the same power consumption in the entire pps range. There are also half power profiles. Support for ATmega8 is completly finished because of too small flash memory size |

v005 Further improvements features issued in the v004 Wide range of timing profiles (regarding frequency )in the v004 is completly useless. The same with half power profiles. I have noticed huge VDI instability. In the v005 only 3 profiles 100,200 and 400Hz with constant pulse width 120us are issued. Power consumption varies according to the profile. The higher frequency the more power consumed. Maximum power consumption is 130mA. Low frequency can be used as eco power mode |

То есть сама схема прибора полностью повторяет ChancePI Вы переписали программную часть улучшив показатели прибора, я правильно понимаю? |

This project has roots in the ChancePi by Fandy. A lot of harware is similar (rather simpler than predecessor) but software was re-written. Some old ideas/solutions are still in use |

Ваш прибор стал без каскада транзисторов 9, 5, 6, но зачем V--Up и преобразователь U1 нужен? Your device has become without a cascade of transistors 9, 5, 6, but why V - Up and U1 converter needed? |

U1 has nothing common with lacking Q6, Q5, etc. U1 is negative supply voltage generator for opamp |

1. -Up использовалось также для коллектора Q5. 2. Да, -Up -V нужно для NE5534. 1. -Up also used to Q5 collector. 2. Yes, -Up -V need for NE5534. |

v012 is available Because of question from users I have to clarify a little bit... Entire Q6 solution was a bit "fictious" in the original Chance PI. It did not work properly in fact and did nothing usefull instead of additional and unwanted 100mA power drain So I do not drive Q6 in the 2nd Chance and I have changed the way of coil driving. For instance original Q6 solution drains 180mA but my solution drains 80mA. Is there any difference ? Like I said Q6 solution was not succesfull Should not be difference if Q6 circuit is placed or removed from PCB when using my software. In my software Q6 is driven as inactive whole time. The ICL7660/LT1054 is enabled whole time also. So, simplifying, my release should be backward compatible. I do not test it at all. For purity reasons I have removed Q6 circuit from my pcb completly and new schematic diagram and pcb project do not include one also. By the way,a few things good to know about 2nd Chance PI: - OK button pressed whilst starting restores default settings - Menu button pressed whilst starting goes direcly into menu without battery test. It can be usefull when you set battery U min level higher than voltage battery you have. Normally you will see "low battery" prompt at start in that case. So use this method. - Default settings are proper in my case. Everyone should test the device and enter own settings |
